COURSE CONTENT
The course content is entirely up to you. You will be paying for my
undivided attention and I am prepared to discuss anything at all to do
with your business and how to move it on.
Here are some suggestions for subjects
you might like to cover:
Colour
- how to incorporate the Tonal method into your existing Seasonal service
- or
- how to add the Seasonal approach to your existing Tonal service
- using the two systems, either alone or together
- helping those clients who are not obviously Seasonal
- how not to bore to death or confuse your client (or yourself) with
irrelevant image-speak, interminable draping, and unnecessary information
- how to work out what your client really wants from the consultation,
and how to deliver just that!
- having 100% confidence in your own ability to do a quick, accurate
analysis
- how to use the drapes, wallets and other colour tools successfully
- incorporating Colour Psychology as a fun colour tool, but with underlying
benefits for your clients
- how to do a colour analysis without a drape in sight!
- having the confidence to charge a reasonable fee for your services
Ladies' Style
- a quick, simple, fun and non-obtrusive method of analysing body shape
- in other words, without having to touch or measure your client
- how to incorporate scale and proportion into your consultations effectively,
without overwhelming your client with image-babble
- three different methods of identifying style personality, eg. Classic,
Natural, Dramatic, Creative, Romantic and European, or any others that
you want to incude or rename
- how to advise ladies of all ages about which style of clothes make
them look their best
- how to incorporate the latest fashion trends into your client's wardrobe
- assessing and solving figure problems quickly and easily
- how to advise on jewellery and other accessories
- diagnosing facial features to be able to select the most flattering
hairstyles, glasses and hats for your client
- how to work out what your client really wants from the consultation,
and how to deliver just that!
"Thanks for a good course this week
and I will start putting it all into practice, got some ladies lined
up already! One a ‘natural’ I guess who is trying to
be every other style and wondering why she is struggling! Many
thanks, good to see you and I will let you know how I get on (probably
via 20 questions?!)" AS, Isle of Man (Mar 08)
Business concepts
- how to market your business, eg. word of mouth, public speaking,
advertising, giving talks, etc
- how to develop your clients and provide long-term income for your
business
- how to resurrect your old business
- how to add colour, style, etc. to your current business
- how to create a website that brings in clients
- how to write leaflets, business cards, etc. that make an impact
- better communication skills - using the telephone, email, websites,
networking, etc.
Hairdressers, florists, opticians, beauticians,
boutique owners, etc. may also want to consider the following:
- how to advise your clients on the best colours for the products
that you sell, i.e. clothes, shoes, hats, hair colours and accessories,
flowers, and eye frames
- your customers will save money by not buying clothes / hair colours
/ flowers / frames that are wrong for their colouring but will, in
the long run, return again and again to spend more with you because
they learn to trust your personalised advice. They'll also tell their
friends about this brilliant new service and your profits will increase
accordingly
"Thank you so much for a lovely day.
The day was very enjoyable. You were a perfect hostess. I had tried
out my new skill on my husband and it went well. It will take me
time to organise and implement my new service in to the (hair/wedding)
business. I am sure I will have lots of questions." Linda,
Camberley, UK (May 05)
Life coaches, alternative therapists, etc. may
also want to consider:
- learning a simple way of advising your clients as to which clothes
they will look fabulous in, based on knowledge of their colouring,
body shape and/or personality
- how to incorporate the power of colour, better grooming, etc. into
your consultations with your clients
- you can teach your clients new, practical and fun skills to help
them build their confidence
"A belated thank you for a great day on
Tuesday - you got me thinking about possibilities again which is just
what I needed. I am going to try some of it out next week and know
that it will help toward my overall coaching approach." Caroline,
Executive Development Coach (UK)
The above
are suggestions only. I am sure you will come up with
a list of your own, to suit your own requirements.
Full back-up AFTER your training is
included
Many training courses take your money, and then turf you out onto the
streets with a box of supplies (and probably a bedroom-full of make-up
to sell) and no idea what to do with them. The first 12 months of your
new business in particular is the time when you will have the most questions
and that's when I will be there to support you with all the help you
need.
- Many of those who have already trained with me send emails with questions
or photos of those people who are not so easy to analyse - and I pore
over these and offer my help and advice
- Others ask me to check out their leaflets, flyers, websites, etc.
- You can also ask me any questions relevant to your business - even
if I can't help you personally, I probably know a man or a woman who
can!
"I have to thank you yet again for my day
with you. I told my husband, that after being with you for 15 minutes
I wanted to run out of your home to the train station, get home and
get started. I so know I'm on the right track. As they say, 'nothing
before its time.' Thank you again, you'll be hearing from me very soon." Patricia,
London (Dec 05) after a one-day session to add colour analysis to Patricia's
existing business as a Fashion Stylist.
It's up to you whether you keep in touch or not. This is not a franchise,
so I won't be chasing you. You set up your own business, run your way,
to reflect your own personality but I am here if, and whenever, you need
me.
THE NEXT STEP
We need to talk!
Until I know exactly what you want from the course, I could not possibly
quote for prices, course duration, etc. We need to talk on the phone
- with absolutely no obligation on either side.
"Thank you for your quick reply with all
the information you've provided and it was great talking to you also
yesterday, very helpful! I am really interested in doing your course
and I agree, I think colour will work very well. I'm hoping to join
your course in November, although I think it will be easier to get
away and do once I am in the new salon and obviously I need to work
out everything and prepare for the other ideas I wish to do. Thank
you again for your help so far."
Read frequently-asked questions about
training and then contact me with the
information below:
- Your name, location, and daytime telephone number
- The best time to call you during the day
- Your business status
- What type of business consultancy or training you are looking for
This puts neither of us under any obligation whatsoever but if you are
going to invest time and money in your business, you need to be sure
that you can work with me, especially on such a personal level!
"I want to tell you both that I had a great
time last week. The training was great. I found so much useful that
I am still buzzing with ideas:
- I realised that I was confusing myself by
using too many drapes in the actual analysis. I am definitely going
to find the ones that work for me and use only them.
- Also I am still tryng to cover too much stuff
in the first session. I am going to prune the information.
- And I don't provide enough for my clients
who need to touch the colours rather than listen or look.
- What else? Change what I say on the 'phone
and in print, and change the way I think about myself.
Thanks for replying to my emails. I have tucked
them away for reference. All in all, it was a huge success for me.
Thanks again." Sue, UK (May 06) after a one-day course in
Colour after initial training with another company / method.
If I can help you refocus, move your business forward, and achieve your
dreams, then I would love to help you! Contact
me and let's talk this through.

Examples
of people who would benefit from a one-to-one bespoke business consultancy
session
EXAMPLE 1
"I began using colour and image concepts as a small
part of the therapeutic work and occasional clutter clearing I do when
I could clearly see what suited a particular client. My focus, howver,
has always been on the therapeutic and how colour and image/style relate
to self-esteem and self-perception.
I am not seeking to start up a franchised business - where a large
part of the business is selling make-up and accessories etc. I am interested
in deepening my understanding to contribute to work with individuals
on their personal, emotional and work issues.
What I am really looking for is concrete training in the nuts and
bolts of the analysis - a way of integrating the knowledge I do have
and ending up completely secure in the knowledge that I would be 100%
confident in getting the seasonal and tonal analysis correct for my
clients.
I am already familiar with the colour wheel and the seasons although
I haven’t ever worked with the tonal system and that would be
very good to learn as well.
With the other aspects - marketing, running consultations and running
a business – I already feel confident in these areas and am very
clear about how the colour analysis could fit in with what I do. I
do not anyway envisage it becoming a large part of my activities -
just something I absolutely love and would like to be able to offer.
For some time, I have actually been having to turn potential clients
away and send them to (another colour company) if I am not 100% certain
that I can determine their season.
I also felt that it would not be a good investment to have my own
colours done again since I am very happy that I understand which colours
suit me and why.
I would also be interested in a lot of the information you’ve
distilled over your years in the business; for example you mentioned
Summers never being Dramatic (yet!) – those sorts of tips which
I would be unlikely to get elsewhere.
I shall wait to hear from you and hope that there are other clients
who would be interested in similar training. Even if it’s just
a one-day “refresher course” with a wide brief, I think
this would be more useful and a better investment for me."
An enquiry from an established consultant (Aug 07)
EXAMPLE 2
"I am considering adding Ladies' Style to my repertoire.
We are in the UK at Easter time for a family birthday and I would like
to spend a one-day with you filling my head about style, shapes and sizes.
I am quite happy to do lots of reading beforehand to ease the day. Indeed
I have already done a lot of reading about shapes and sizes, face shapes,
etc. I have also done the Men's Image course with you about Classic /
Natural / European, etc. so that would help. I have had my own style
done so that helps as well.
As I am already up and running with Colour I am confident with the consultation
side of things, finding out what my client wants and the marketing of
the business.
If you think it is do-able what price about are we talking about?"
An enquiry from an Improvability-trained consultant living outside the
UK (Oct 07). This is now booked for Easter week in 2008.
