I never did get round to sending you those pictures of me in my shirts and ties! I don't know whether I am a 'natural 'or a 'creative' but I much prefer the look, style, and everything of men's clothes to women's so I usually wear androgynous women's clothes - like tee shirts, shirts and so on, and I've got some nice jackets. All that would probably look better if I was thin and boyish looking, say like Annie Lennox, but I'm not and I don't (!), and I would probably get on even better if I liked the attention that dressing differently attracts, which I don't, so I usually opt for casual clothes unless I'm feeling daring! However since my colour analysis I now buy anything new in my colours, which is really great!! Keep up the good work." Susan, UK (Dec 06) "Thank you for your lovely supportive message. Yes I am going for it - and having great fun! The main difficulty (apart from not having the looks or the body shape of Annie Lennox, but we'll gloss over that) is that the style of shirts that I like, that are made for women, only come in a very limited range of colours. However I have been able to get a banana coloured one, and a moss green striped one, and a white - although I can put an autumnal coloured tie with it. I've still got some black or grey clothes (!) that I bought before I had your colour advice, so I'm still wearing those but trying to put something in 'my colours' with them. Your colour advice has been an eye opener to me and I do realise
how much better I look (relatively speaking!) when I am wearing the
right colours! It sounds simple now! Anyway, I said a while
ago I'd send some photos, so I've attached some to this message. If
you need psychological help after viewing these I know a good counsellor...
I sent the pics because I am so pleased to be wearing the right colours,
where possible, now I know what colours to "Just to say thank you once more for all your great advice. You must be very busy and I really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to give me this advice. Sometimes you see people, don't you, who have just got it all together with this style and colour thing? (Well it's obviously an understatement saying that to you!) Since I did this colour analysis with you I have become much more aware of it - in other people, as well as hopefully in myself. Then I saw one of those makeover programmes 'Would like to Meet' where a man was being taken round the clothes shops and shown what to buy to make him look better. He had nice blue eyes and the 'clothes person' got him to put on a mid-blue shirt to complement his eyes. So I thought, well I've got blue eyes so I'll just wear blue, and that was the nearest I got until I came across you! It was then that something significant happened. A friend and I were meeting up for lunch, so I thought I would wear one of the ties that he had sent me. So I put on my banana-coloured shirt and his blue tartan tie and my rust jacket and looked at myself in the mirror and with no warning just started to cry. I couldn't believe what an emotional experience it was seeing myself in the mirror dressed like that. I just felt really 'me'. So since then I have deliberately sought out this feeling and have been wearing them when I can. So a big thank you once again Kim for all your help and advice and encouragement." Susan, UK (Feb 07) "I had an online colour analysis in the Autumn of last year and had also just purchased your e-books. I just wanted to say how brilliant they all are and how much easier it makes it to go shopping - I never leave the house without my Autumn fabric fan just in case! Slowly but surely I am replacing items in my wardrobe using your suggestions, swapping my grey winter coat for a chocolate brown one at the beginning of the year, and this Summer discovering colours more suited to the time of year that I would never have touched like apricot, coral and apple green. All I need now is the style analysis (no pressure!). Thanks again." Katie, Cambs, UK (Jun 06) "First of all I want to say thank you for transforming my clothes mindset! Having completed your online colour analysis I have undertaken a steady, but definite overhaul of my wardrobe. Over six months ago I started to review my image very seriously, not only through trying to lose weight, but also in order to choose clothes that are more suitable to me. After you identified that I was an Autumn I have been out shopping with my colour swatch book buying a new brown suit, a brown and rust blouse and a jade green top - to name but a few. Whilst in Meadow Hall shopping for my new suit I even managed to tell the shop assistant how the colour analysis has transformed my ideas and shopping habits. She was immediately struck by the colour swatch and the opportunity for a colour analysis when I was matching fabrics so I passed on your website details. I still havent totalled up my recent clothes spend for fear of fainting!!! It has been wonderful seeing how more suitable colours have transformed the way I feel about how I look. I have even started my wardrobe weed out - part one from your newsletter! I used to work in a clothes factory shop when I was a student and I would simply buy what I liked the looks of and it usually fit my budget at the time. Im completely different now. Ive become very choosy and specific about what I NEED, not want. But now I have a new image challenge and it is an exciting one for me. I recently got engaged and Im starting the process of choosing a wedding dress and colour themes for the wedding. I already know that pure white is a colour I should avoid and that I should probably consider the oyster and warm beige that you have identified in the Autumn colour swatch. We are due to marry on midsummers day next year and I love the idea of soft golds and neutrals, but before I go any further identifying colour combinations with flowers and decorations, etc. I thought it best to ask the expert! I would appreciate any suggestions you can offer me." Anna, Derbyshire, UK (Apr 06) "Just a quick email to let you know that I'm very pleased with my analysis and I appreciate the effort and advice in it. I was surprised I was Autumn-suited, though I don't know why because it makes perfect sense and I can understand now niggly doubts I've been having about some items in my wardrobe. I really liked the shades you recommended for me - I've never worn deep peach/apricot so I'm going on a mission this lunchtime to find something of the sort. Also when I get home this evening I'll order the Autumn fabric wallet. Once I've assembled a good outfit I'll send you a picture so you can see how I've got on, many thanks." Sonia, Oxford, UK (Apr 06) "Kim, you have changed the way I look, feel and experience colors. Your evaluation opened up new colors to me that I have never tried and never dreamed would look good on me. The best thing was getting to send in the pictures and then more pictures and then more pictures until you were satisfied that you had my color palette right. It has been a wonderful and fun experience. I have many friends who have paid many dollars more and have not received the value that you have given me. I have recommended you to all my friends and family. You have a wonderful, positive spirit that you spread to others. I hope to be in England sometime so that we can meet." Jane Minkley-Baker, Lubbock, TX, USA. (Jan 06) "P.S. Love your newsletters!!"
"I've thought a lot about the colour analysis I had done previously and the service you provide online. When I looked at the Improvability website and saw the detail and content of your anaysis portfolio it made me realise just how inaqequate and incomplete my previous consult was! I am determined to do it properly so I think perhaps the best course of action would be to order an online analysis from your company. I intend to do so in the very near future (when I organise a photo and figure out how to attach it to an email!) Just wanted to reply to the email you sent me to say thank you for being so helpful and offering to help me sort out my seasonal colouring." Aisling, Ireland (Dec 05) "We have received your analysis and have had so much fun reading
them. We are extremely pleased with your work and have mentioned you
to our family and friends! "Thank you so much. I am trying to digest all of the information and its certainly opening my eyes!" GL, Berkshire, UK (Apr 05) "I have the swatch and I'm very pleased with it. I have been pounding the streets in Stafford and looking everywhere for colours, at colours, looking at the way people use colour and the way they wear colour. (Am I becoming obsessed?!) I have found it quite interesting searching for my colours, it doesn't take as long as I thought it would as when I am in a shop I scour the shelves and if they're not there I don't go any further! I can't wait to find a shop that has the right combinations though. I have been trying lots of outfits on just because they're the right colour - just to see.I think it's nice that you are interested in my progress." "Thank you for my portfolio. I'm reading and re-reading it at the moment and I aim to try out everything! Already I'm looking at other people and noticing how colours can affect us. I will let you know how I get on." KE, Stafford, UK (Apr 05) "I wanted to write and let you know that we very much enjoy
working with you and absolutely love the anticipation. I so love what
you do! I love to teach, and I am an artist when I am not studying
or prepping. What you do is so artistic!! I would love to do what you
do!! "That was very interesting, I went and bought a cheap coat today in ivory and to my huge surprise the colour actually looks good!!!! I thought I could never wear those colours, especially as a base, it is very exciting! Thanks again I look forward to creating a new image for myself with all of the valuable information you have given me. It has really helped me to define my style and to know how I can express my personality well. All in perfect timing for spring!" Lisa, Middlesex, UK "Thank you for the swatch and the portfolio. I have already started to use them by purchasing clothes. It has been very helpful. Thank you." Lea, Felixstowe, UK "Thank you so much. I have just had a quick chance to look over the basics of your report and wanted to say the following: Firstly, I will be ordering a colour palette during the week to suit my colours. Secondly, I can't believe it! You are so right! It is really funny because even when reading the report I was thinking 'fantastic - I love reds, bright colours, royal blues, etc.' I absolutely love those jewel colours but hardly ever where them because I always feel that I am pushing myself forward too much in them and feel a bit that people will find me really overpowering in them. I can't believe that you put in the report that Ihave been hiding away from the colours that I like - it is so true! I am going to spend time really reading the report properly during the week but just wanted to thank you so much for the analysis. I think it is great and I am just going to put on my red top when we go out for dinner this evening!" Katherine, Kent, UK (Apr 05) "Thank you very much for my Colour portfolio. It was fun doing
the questions. I've enjoyed reading it and feel that it will help me
get on the right track again! Also I loved the Churchill quote. I've
also enjoyed your newsletters! When I am at Crufts next year I will
look out for your fur-coated friend! "Having read the colour portfolio I found it very interesting
and you make some very kind remarks, thank you. The assessment of my
colour psychology was spot on and described me to a T. I was born in
May and was therefore a Spring baby, which makes me wonder if this
has any interpretation of me been a Spring personality. Again thank
you for all your hard work in producing my portfolio." SS,
Nottingham, UK (Apr 05) "Just to say thanks for sending me the analysis. There is so much detail in it which makes it very good value. I especially like the way you recommend colours and colour combinations." SC, Uttoxeter, UK (Mar 05)
