- Your hair is most likely to be light in colour
- Your skin is light

None of this is cast in concrete, but if this description sounds nothing
like you, why not return to the tonal
advisor and try again?
Wearing your Light colours
- Lighter colours will suit you best
- Lighter and brighter colours will look fine but neon or electric
colours will be overpowering. Most blues will look great on you,
from lavender through to medium, to cornflower. Pinks from rose
pink through to pastel pink will look wonderful. Blue-greens,
aqua, turquoise, and lighter reds too
- Avoid really high contrast such as black and white
- Deep, strong, intense colours (dark brown, aubergine, orange, black)
are not your best shades, and certainly not near your face! If
you must wear them, team them with a lighter colour next to the face,
use a low neckline, or wear your best colours for jewellery and/or
make-up.
Save time and money on your next shopping
trip
with your own colour swatch wallet
Now you know which Tonal Direction you are, you will find a wallet/fan
of colour fabric swatches really useful, especially for shopping trips.
The brain cannot retain shades, tones, tints or hues of colour so having
the wallet with you as a reminder will make shopping so much easier.
You'll save time and money by:
- walking past all the colours in the shops that do nothing for you
- no longer buying things that don't suit you
and you'll end up with a wardrobe full of colours that make YOU look
fabulous.
There are two choices for your colouring and each fan holds plenty of
hints and tips about the best colours to select for your wardrobe, including
Neutrals, Basics and Accent colours, together with advice on how to choose
make-up, jewellery, accessories and hair colours confidently.
1. SAFE TONE FAN
This fan contains fabric swatches of 18 safe colours that you can
wear immediately with confidence:
- 8 neutrals for suits, skirts, jackets, and dresses
- 10 basic colours for accents, blouses, scarves
and sweaters
On the back of each card, there's plenty of information about how
to wear your best look, with tips on choosing neutrals and how to combine
those with your best accent colours.
2. TONAL FAN
If you'd like more colours to play around with, this version contains
45 swatches and is just a more comprehensive alternative to the safe
tone fan.
On the back of each card, there's loads of tips and suggestions for
wearing your best colours:
- how to wear your tonal colours
- your best darkest neutrals
- your best lightest neutrals
- your best accent colours
- how to wear the not-so-good colours (including the latest fashion
colours which may not be in your palette)
- shoes
- handbags and briefcases
- jewellery
- glasses frames and contact lenses
- hair colours
Both fans talk about your darker neutrals which are
great investment colours for shoes, boots, belts, handbags, i.e. all
those items that could last you season after season after season, because
they will always complement all the other colours in your fan and in
your wardrobe.
