Learn the rules - and play the game! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| You will be judged by your appearance | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
You WILL be judged by your appearance, whether you like it or not. After all, you judge people by their appearance, don't you? Let's take an example here: What is your immediate reaction when you suddenly look up and see a rather large man walking towards you, dressed from head to foot in bike leathers, with a shaven head, an earring, and tattoos all over his extremely brawny arms? My guess is that most of us would gulp and cross the road. Now why do we do that? Because what he's wearing represents a threat to us - we link his outward appearance with what we've seen in the movies, or read about in the newspapers - the possibility of rudeness, even violence. But this man is someone's son. In fact, I have a friend who dresses just like this and he does his Grandma's shopping for her every week without fail! He's quite happy to be seen in the local supermarket with his shopping bags because it makes his Gran happy. He's just a teddy bear at heart. So, you see, we judge people by what we see when we first meet them - what they're wearing, not by who they really are - and people will judge you in just the same way. "Dress gives one the outward sign from which people in general can, and often do, judge upon the inward state of mind and feelings." -- Her Majesty The Queen
There is a game being played out there and, if you know the rules, you can play - to win! You can refuse to join in and get overlooked in the process, or you can adopt a sense of humour and play the game. All you need to know are the rules. Let me help you to:
Our colour, style, and image workshops will show you what suits YOU and what will make you look fabulous all the time. You can add some of the current trends in to your wardrobe if you want to, but you need to know what suits YOU, not some malformed waif of a model. We are dealing with real people here! And let's face it, some of the stuff coming off the catwalks (and out of the High Street) recently looks like my great-aunt Ethel ran it up on her old Singer sewing machine in an hour last night after a couple of strong gins! Dear me! These workshops are for real women, who want to express their own individuality and look good all the time. Life is too short to compromise. We could all get run over by a number 22 bus this very day so let's get on with life, enjoy every moment, and get what we want at the same time. More information about workshops
