Retaining the feminine look of last season
STORIES
Days gone by
Themes from the 1950 to 1990s are updated and modernised. Rounded shapes
dominte with cinched waists, three-quarter length trousers, short skirts
and dresses.
Colours - high voltage mustard, orange, acid green and yellow mix, with
vintage purple, duck-egg blue, and soft grey
Allure
Elegance and comfort reign supreme in a trend that evokes luxury and
naturalness and leans towards sportswear. Wide-legged trousers, long
flowing skirts, golf caps, casual chic suits and cropped jackets, all
teamed with sexy heels, ballet pumps and boots.
Colours - beige, mocha, sand, charcoal, cream, gold, mother of pearl,
and pink.
Global Traveller
Eclectic in its styling, the wardrobes of many cultures are raided here
with a 1980s twist. Think wandering backpackers, Far Eastern inspiration,
and hippy chick. Loose layered silhouettes in long overcoats, wide
trousers, mannish suiting, wrap coats and cardigans, high-waisted trousers,
printed and embroidered shirts.
Colours - botanical shades of rush, brown, plum, forest green, muted
purple, duck-egg blue, red and yellow.
Full volume
The loose look of Japanese styling is adapted to create a relaxed look
by fusing masculine and feminine. Strong contrasting volumes and individual
styling are central to the trend.
Colours - an intense range of hues, petrol blue, chocolate brown, deep
purple, black and slate grey are highlighted with lavender, beige, olive
and denim.
KEY STYLYING
Outerwear
Metallic sheens, fur edging and detail create coats with a retro-ski
feel
Knits
Pretty bows, beading and sequins on soft pastels create detail, or colourful
patterns, e.g. new Argyles, blocked stripes
Skirts
Every option from long to midi, A-line to trapeze, and plain to embroidered
Trousers
Dropped and high-waisted, wide-legged and jodhpur styles - in the extremes
Jackets and coats
Look for Parisian chic in distressed or appliqued boucle, contrast ribbon
details, soft pinks or cream and box shapes. Exaggerated wrap collars
and asymmetric shapes.
Evening wear
Look for sparkle detail, swooping low backs, knee or floor-length hemlines
or soft pastels and layering.
COLOUR
The key story from Paris is green, fuchsia or soft pink to lighten up
the palettes for the colder months. Brights in pistachio, lime or leaf
green and tones of hot pink. Pastels are soft in ballet shoe pink or
soft mink.
