"I’d like to thank you for a fascinating and enjoyable time at the Colours workshop on Friday.

On Saturday I went clothes shopping and treated myself to a “brick red” top and cardigan and a pair of “Bournville” trousers. It was great to walk into clothes shops and to head straight for the colours that suit me.

Today I wore the red top to work with a chocolate skirt and boots and some brighter-than-normal lipstick and a colleague commented that I looked nice! How about that? Just one day of wearing my best colours and a compliment already!

I’ve already started ridding my wardrobe of the pastels that I never really wore anyway and discovered items in the right colours that I’d forgotten about.

The journey has started……….. Thanks once again. All the best." Lisa, Stoke-on-Trent, UK (Nov 06)

"Thank you. Really enjoyed it all. Everything was useful. Briliiant day." Liz, Belper, UK (Nov 06) NB. Lovely lunch, too. Many thanks, Neil."

"It was really useful to see how different colours look on the three people who are all Autumns." Andrea, Manchester, UK (Nov 06)

"It's been a fun and enjoyable day. I learnt what best suits me and how to put the colours together." Kirsty, Gloucester, UK (Nov 06)

"It's been a fascinating, enlightening day. Great fun! Thank you. Learning what colours look best on me has been the most useful. I will probably do the Style workshop in the future." Lisa, Stoke-on-Trent, UK (Nov 06)

"The most useful thing I discovered today is that colour sometimes isn't the most important but the shade is, or what it is accessorised with." Karen, Leek, UK (Nov 06)

"I haven't forgotten I said I'd do some before-and-after pictures once I'd had my make-up done - it's just that I haven't had it done yet!

Am enjoying all the newsletters - I especially like the info you give for colour combinations for each season to wear. It's also good to have a recommendation for somewhere to shop where the shop assistant is helpful and knows her stuff - more of that would be great.

I have taken the drastic step of getting my sewing machine out to make some of my own clothes - especially trousers for work - as it's a nightmare trying to find a good fit in my size. At least I know what colour fabrics to buy! I figured that I spend approx 12 hours shopping (3 Saturdays x 4hrs) to find 1 pair of trousers and then have to spend extra to get them altered anyway. Much better to spend a couple of hours shopping (1hr to buy the fabric, 1 hr for lunch!) and then maybe 4hrs to make them. Once I've got the fit right it'll be a doddle to make up some more in different fabrics. That's the theory anyway - fingers crossed!

Hope to be sending you some make-up photos soon.....!" Karen, Nottingham (Jul 06) (after a private workshop in March 06 to celebrate Karen's 40th birthday)

"Julia and I finally got round to a makeup session so not only do I have some fab new stuff to play with but I've also taken a few pictures to see what difference it makes. These were taken with Richard's phone so the quality isn't brilliant and the ligthing is also quite a big variable. The pictures don't really do justice to the makeup - it's from Molton Brown and is absolutely gorgeous. My complexion looks much healthier - just need to get the application of blusher right - am reading your newsletters very carefully!

Please feel free to use any of them on your website - I think the 'Brown' and 'Mauve' are quite good as it's the same style jumper - the only difference is the colour. Even I can see the improvement! See what you think....... Will now be throwing away the old makeup - the brown jumper is now for gardening only!" Karen, Nottingham (Sep 06)

"I just wanted to thank you for Friday. I had a wonderful day. It was nice to spend time on myself and with other women who felt they needed help with self image, and, of course, people over five years old. It was a great first step but has definitely left me wanting to learn more. I think with the help of the Autumn swatches, I've got colour, But I still don't really understand style. So I'll probably see you again for a style and accessories workshop (maybe next birthday).

Jenny and I went shopping on Saturday and we both enjoyed it, which has never happend before!! It was just so much easier. I bought some black jeans with red stiching and a red blouse with cap sleeves and a red jacket ending at the waist (narrowest point for the horizontal!!) Dramatic or what.

Jen went mad, all pastel and girly. A gorgeous winter white, just-below-the-knee skirt, with pastel flower embroidery, a lilac jacket (which she adores and looks gorgeous on her), pink sandals ,and the list goes on (all matching her swatches, of course). She went out to a barbeque Saturday night with her boyfriend and his family who all said she looked lovely. Now she knows she looks good because she has had professional advice.

I am having a wardrobe weed-out on Wednesday (Nan is having the kids). So I have printed out part 1 and got in a bottle of Martini and some lemonade. I'll keep you posted and I will send you some photos next time." Kathy, Chesterfield, UK (Jun 06)

"Confirming colours that work (and ones which do not) was really useful." Sharon, Surrey, UK (Jun 06)

"The colour tips were the most useful today." Deborah, Wilts, UK (Jun 06)

"Identifying style was most useful to me. Very informal, friendly and helpful. Very informative and knowledgeable." Sally, East Sussex, UK (Jun 06)

"I was surprised to find pastel colours suited me as opposed to bold and bright. Fantastic workshop and a great confdence booster. Would definitely recommend to friends and family." Jenny, Chesterfield, UK (Jun 06)

"Fantastic, confidence building, safe and friendly environment, really enjoyed the day. Thank you." Kathy, Chesterfield, UK (Jun 06)

"I can now recognise which colours to avoid, and found the skirt and jacket length advice the most useful. Good day, Good size group." Jo, Northants, UK (Mar 06)

"Thank you so much for a very enjoyable and informative workshop. It has opened mine and I am sure my daughters' eyes to a new outlook on colour and style. I found out the colours that suited me and mixed together. A very interesting, informative day. Opened my eyes to some colours I would not have considered." Pat, Bucks, UK (Mar 06)

"The colour analysis was the most useful - changed the verdict from 15 years ago. Enjoyed the day very much - looking forward to weeding my wardrobe now." Liz, Nottingham, UK (Mar 06)

"Gaining an understanding of what colours/styles suit was the most useful. Really enjoyed the day and have started on the road of gaining more confidence to get away from my normal safe colours, i.e. black and white." Nicky, Belper, UK (Mar 06)

"It was great finding what my 'colours' actually are, trying the colours and lipsticks and finding out shapes. I enjoyed the practical side of trying colours more so than the questionnaires (which were interesting)." Elaine, Ripley, UK, (Mar 06)

"I have found everything very useful and can't wait to go home and try it all out. Really enjoyable day, very friendly and relaxed environment. Thanks very much again for the great day we had; we all really enjoyed it." Amanda, Buckingham, UK (Mar 06)

"I loved everything! To learn my real eye colour and skin tone and then to see them come to life was a real revelation.

Well I guess you knew this email was coming - what with me being an Autumn personality and all that! I just wanted to say thanks once again for your time on Saturday. I can honestly say that it was everything I hoped it would be - and more. I realised that I've been fighting my natural colour for many years and you've given me the information and confidence to really make the best of myself. And I never knew my eyes were green/grey instead of blue! We all had a great time - it was good to see the others have a bit of 'me' time as they're very busy ladies - we went straight into Chesterfield to put our new found knowledge into practice! Will be watching your website for new workshops - I'd like to try a Style one at some point but for starters I'm casting a very critical (green/grey) eye over my make-up bag. The wardrobe gets it next!" Karen, Nottingham (Mar 06

"I found out which season and tonal group I am; I had that wrong in my head completely! Really great presentation - it was fun as well as eye-opening. Thanks." Julia, Nottingham (Mar 06)

"A very informative but friendly morning. Thanks." Sarah, Alfreton (Mar 06)

"I discovered that there are other colours I can and should wear that I wouldn't have thought of, i.e. red. Very enjoyable!" Jackie, Nottingham, UK (Mar 06)

"Knowing which colours suit me best was the most useful thing I learnt today. I found the whole day very useful; the information on body and face shapes was good, too." Brenda, Chesterfield (Feb 06)

"The colour analysis was the most useful, and lunch and refreshments were great." Julie, Sheffield (Feb 06)

"The face shapes and styles were the most useful. All very good. Thank you for a lovely thought-provoking day. I have really enjoyed it and you made us all feel very welcome." Sue, Sheffield (Feb 06)

"The idea of looking differently at myself was the most useful plus the colours I choose to wear. Thank you for a very interesting and fun day!" Rachel, Sheffield (Feb 06)

"It confirmed that I am actually already wearing colours I suit and I now understand body shape and the clothes to match. Really enjoyed the day - can't wait to go shopping!" Fiona, Chesterfield (Feb 06)

"I enjoyed discovering what colours and style will help me to feel good about myself. It was also good spending time with others! I really enjoyed my day!" Sharon, Sheffield (Feb 06)

"Thank you so much for sending me the info on the Feminine style and the Armani colour swatches. I have been shopping once with my wallet for Natural clothes and managed to walk past all the black! I got confused as the sales were on though so I am going again soon when things are less chaotic in the shops and I can focus properly. I did buy some different make up though and some boots!

I had such a good day at the workshop and I am determined to put your advice into practise. Thanks again." Emma, Derbyshire (Jan 05)

"What a fantastic day. Came straight home and phoned the hair stylist - now that is assertive for me !! so much to take in and think about. You truly are a credit to your profession. Now all I need to do is sort out a different and fulfilling career!!!! well that is a task HA HA HA. But that will take time, I guess. Maybe a psychologist required !!!! who knows?

Can you also send me the wallet with the fabric samples in as I intend to get hubby to purchase the correct colour when he eventually decides to go and shop for that all-important surprise!!

I have already told many friends of my day full of ME time and recommended you very highly. Many thanks once again." Wendy, Chesterfield (Dec 05)

"It was really useful understanding about cool tones and that black is okay for me." Fiona, Derbyshire (Dec 05)

"It reaffirmed what I had thought about my colours / shapes, etc. and gave me a lipstick colour!" Andrea, Dewsbury (Dec 05)

"All of the workshop was fab! especially finding out which colours suit me and which styles will flatter my body shape. Thank you, Kim, for a very interesting day." Tracey, Sutton-in-Ashfield (Dec 05)

"I'm now making the most of what I've got. Thanks very much; I've had a fabulous day!" Wendy, Sheffield (Dec 05)

"It was good to be advised as to which colours suit me best but really everything was useful and I shall enjoy experimenting. It has been an extremely enjoyable and enlightening day. We have learnt (and laughed) a lot. Kim is a welcoming hostess and a great teacher. Thanks for a great day!" Emma, Derbyshire (Dec 05)

"Santa was very kind to me! He brought me that long navy blue flowing coat - and as you predicted (on the June workshop) it looks fantastic (even if I do say so myself!!) He also brought me a lovely red jacket!" Vicki, Nuneaton (Dec 05)

"Discovering what colours really suit me and which don't was so useful. And how a certain way of dressing matches your personality. It's been a really great interesting day and I'll definitely take note of everything that has been said. I've also discovered that you really have to look at yourself! Thank you." Sarah, Luton (Sep 05)

"I was so impressed by the way the whole thing fits together and at the end everyone had a way to go. You are right, having different body shapes, types and seasons in the room makes it so much easier for everyone. I could literally see that I wasn't a Natural type or a gracious lady. I could see that no matter what I might have been I wasn't an Autumn now. They had a different look to them.

I felt that the style session was just so sensible. I felt good about my body whereas others I tried focused on my faults and how to camouflage them, plus I had to look at endless pictures to see my style. The personality quiz was so revealing and summed me up better than any other. I also felt that the session did not pigeon-hole ladies - 'You are a Natural so you cannot wear chunky watches,' sort of thing. I discovered that it's ok to be really me. Very thought provoking." Sue, Bramshall (Sep 05)

"Very well presented in a very friendly, comfortable environment. I enjoyed the advice on body shape and tonal colour directions. Very interesting to see what does and doesn't suit me! Excellent, have found it very helpful!" Fiona, Derbyshire (Sep 05)

"It was good identifying and seeing colours that suit. Also building confidence to wear what I want to wear. Very helpful, good atmosphere. Enjoyed being part of a group and seeing effects on others." Linda, York, (Sep 05)

"I found it really useful about shaping and how to make the best of my body shape. Also the power of colour and how to adapt it." Kim, Sheffield (Sep 05)

"Everything in the workshop has been extremely useful linking colour/style/personality. I had a bril time with you and the others on Saturday - what an experience! It should be compulsory for everyone! Thank you once again - please pass thanks on to Neil too. Will send photos once I've been on shopping spree." Anne, Ashby-de-la-Zouch (Sep 05)

"Firstly, thank you very much for a great day on Saturday. Both Sarah and myself really enjoyed ourselves and came away buzzing with conversation about our colours. It was informative and has opened up my eyes on how colour can change the perception others have.

Many thanks again for such an 'eye-opening' day! My eye already seems trained to avoid all the browns and beiges and I head straight for the blues and greys and, dare I say it, plum!! AND I've ordered a pair of navy shoes! I never thought I'd ever wear navy shoes!" Steph, Milton Keynes (Sep 05)

"I have been prompted to contact you by my friends.... remember us all in Market Bosworth in March this year? When we last met they couldn't believe the transformation in me as I have grown to love wearing the pinks, blues and lavenders you recommended. I was the 'matron' of the group who mostly only ever wore black.

I have been busy buying wedding outfits ....... there are 4 events to dress for. I have a lovely lavender trouser suit, a long slinky navy skirt with kick flare, dusky pink top, splendid navy matching hat and shoes, all mix and match. There isn't a day goes by without someone remarking about how I look and how the colours suit me.

You really did open doors for me and give me colour confidence. Thank you." Jenny, Leicestershire (Sep 05)

"Well, where do I start???!!! My wardrobe has had a major overhaul! It is now only full of Navy, Bright Pink, Bright Red and White! I'm only wearing 2 lipsticks - bright red and bright pink!! Only wearing heeled shoes!! I have 3 big (well, bigger than I would normally have worn!) silver necklaces which look fab.

I went to Orlando on hols this summer - we had 2 mammoth shopping days and I got so much stuff - but only in my style & colour of course! Everthing goes with everything (except the pink & red, of course!). My heart was pounding coming through customs as I had bought so much but it was all so much cheaper than over here!

Since coming back off my hols I've had my white blonde highlights - they look so good (even if I do say so myself!).

All my friends can't believe what a transformation it has made. My sister looks great in her corals and different colours! We are going to send you some photos of us shortly.

We would be interested in the accessories and makeup day if you are planning one?? And I think my mum was in touch with you about coming to one of the Style & Colour days." Vicki, Nuneaton (Aug 05)

"Wow. What a fab day. I was enthralled. Time went so quickly. I had the best time. Great value for money." Suzie, Nottingham (Jun 05)

"I really enjoyed finding out about colour analysis and its relationship with personality/confidence/psychology.

What a fantastic day. I felt welcome and safe, had fun, met some lovely people, was able to share some personal stuff which really helped resolve things for me. I feel more confident already. Looking forward to my wardrobe weed-out! Thank you, Kim, for welcoming me into your home." Alice, Chesterfield (Jun 05)

"The whole day has been fantastic. It has been good to see styles/colours on others. Thank you very much for such a life-changing day. I can't wait to go shopping and try it all out!" V. Boonham, Nuneaton (Jun 05)

"Fabulous day. Thank you. Pink city - here I come!

"Check out the photo of me in my new bright pink cardi and girly mules (pale pink and silver), then upscaled with earrings and necklace for my Creative side. "Many thanks for yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and meeting the other girls. Have taken on board lots of the things you said and on the way to the airport to drop Jane off we went shopping! Check out the photo of me in my new bright pink cardi and girly mules (pale pink and silver), then upscaled with earrings and necklace for my Creative side. Also got a bright pink handbag so will now go round looking like a blancmange. Next project - purple suit.

I am planning on binning most of my wardrobe and refilling it. No more black tops for me! Your swatch that you call “cocoa”- like a taupe /creamy coffee to me. Didn’t think I’d be seen dead in it – anyway, I saw a top in cocoa today, thin straps with built-in bra top so plenty of shape for me AND it’s lacey, so a bit Creative too. There’s also a lacey shrug in a slightly darker tone, long sleeves with fluted cuffs - me or what? They are in a “ladies” shop rather than high street chain, and she only stocks a few of each so hopefully won't see anyone else in them. I’m already planning what other colours to wear with them!" Heather, Bridlington (Jun 05)
